Description

Join us for an exciting evening to hear the tensions of court and country unfold in The Nelson Trust’s first lecture in Somerset – The Battle of Sedgemoor, given by historian Dan Snow. Dan who spent his childhood being taken around castles, battle fields, country houses and churches will certainly bring to life this epic final battle of the Monmouth rebellion.

Reception and canapés from 6pm with the opportunity to meet Dan and The Nelson Trust team.

The Nelson Trust is a charity, operating since 1985, we work with and beyond addiction to inspire change. We are committed to working for the benefit of communities to address the needs of people with substances misuse problems, to support those in recovery and those affected by addiction and its associated consequences.

We aim to work where the constellation of substance misuse, trauma, offending and abuse lead to multiple and severe deprivation which impacts on women and whole families, often perpetuating problems from one generation to the next.

Our development is client need led and in 32 years we have grown form one residential house in Gloucestershire, to working across 3 counties (Gloucestershire, Swindon & Wiltshire and Somerset).

In 2018 The Nelson Trust will open the doors of a specialist Trauma-Informed Women’s Centre in the heart of Bridgwater, Somerset.

Thank you for your interest, we hope you will join us to support our Somerset based services.
