Event description

Description

This walk highlights significant aspects of hidden history, through local reference points, connecting the African presence in Yorkshire, covering a span of 2000 years and the legacies of over 5000 years of African heritage. During this fascinating two hour stroll you'll be introduced you to Nubian pharaohs, queens, kings and a special Ethiopian prince with connections to Queen Victoria. Be surprised at the numerous African contributions to Yorkshire and the world and discover a rich history which somehow got lost or ignored.

Join Joe Williams, local-born actor and writer, as he vividly brings to life an often untold story.

This is a circular walk around the University campus, numbers are limited.

Please dress weather-appropriately and wear comfortable shoes for walking to keep up with the pace!

Meet at the Parkinson Building steps.
