Event description

Leeds is a city of growing orchard-ing culture. This is the event for anyone interested in community orchards in Leeds or LS postcode areas.

* If you are a group already helping to care for a community orchard then you can request up to £400 to help you run an orchard event in 2017 or maintain and improve your orchard. Full details here.

* If you are interested in starting a community orchard then come along to meet people already doing it and hear their ideas and experience.

In the morning we will be hearing proposals from community orchard groups around Leeds requesting up to £400 to help run an orchard event in or maintain/ improve their orchard.

Orchard groups will have 5 minutes to convince the audience, of other orchard carers, that they deserve a share of the £4000 on offer. The winning groups will be decided by audience vote on the day.

In the afternoon we will be learning from experts with great ideas to make orchards and the city more fruitful. This will include a showcase of what Abundance groups are doing with with gluts of unwanted fruit.

Registration is essential. Please use the green register button at the top of this page.
