Event description

Description

Good quality parks and other public green spaces are essential for making cities great places to visit, work and live in. The many benefits of parks include improving health and wellbeing, providing places for children to play and homes for wildlife, bringing communities together and beautifying the city. They also make a positive contribution to the environment by helping to keep the air clean and mitigating the growing impact of climate change.

The Leeds Parks Fund is a partnership involving Leeds Community Foundation, Leeds Parks and Green Spaces Forum and Leeds City Council and is made possible through the generous support of our donors. Thanks to a range of charitable donations from businesses and members of the public, we are delighted to launch the first round of grants to enhance parks and green spaces across the city.

We are seeking applications from community groups who have ideas about how to improve and transform their local green spaces for the benefit of local people, wildlife and the environment.

If you are thinking of applying for the Fund and would like to learn more about the Leeds Parks Fund then please join us for this briefing. This will include a presentation explaining the grant programme, the application process, a Q&A session, and networking opportunities.

Deadline for applications is 12 noon on 8th October 2019, make sure you apply in plenty of time. If you need more information in advance of the briefing please call the team on 0113 242 2426.
