Here at MonkeyHeads we have a lot of Improvisational experience (check out our other sessions on Eventbrite). If you are a comedy improviser then these workshops will really push your boundaries. If you are an actor then these sessions will make you much more aware of your own physicality and how your body and mind work together. If you are a dancer then this work will expand your ability to be in the moment and not just rely on set choreography. If you are none of the above (or all of the above) then you should come to Play at these sessions 'cos it'll be jolly good fun, build up your physical and mental fitness, widen your horizons and see the world from a different perspective.

These workshops will offer you a couple of hours each month as an introduction to Self-With-Others - an approach to training physical performers within ensemble created by John Britton and now used by him and others around the world.

SWO is an improvisation-based psychophysical training that helps performers observe themselves in action, notice blockages, identify passions and strengths and integrate the actions of their mind with those of the body. It is detailed, rigorous and playful.

This workshop will introduce you to some of the foundations of the training - opening up new ways of understanding how you can use your body creatively and expressively.

SWO is used around the world to train actors, dancers, circus performers, improvisors, teachers, community activists and in corporate, health and therapeutic settings.

The work will be physically active and a cheerful frame of mind will be encouraged.

What's not to like. Fun should be hard work... But hard work should be fun.
