Event description
Your opportunity to learn all about Women Friendly Leeds and get involved in shaping the WFL concept.

About this Event

The Leeds Women's Hub has been developing the Women Friendly Leeds concept for the past two years. The Hub is essential in shaping the initiative and will be a key way for women to share their voice and let us know what they want from a Women Friendly Leeds. WFL will be launched later this year and the hub will focus on the upcoming initiative, giving you an opportunity to learn what has been done, what is planned, and how you can get involved.

  • What does Women Friendly Leeds mean?
  • What do we have planned?
  • What do we want from WFL?
  • How can you get involved?

Leeds Women's Hub

The Leeds Women’s and Girls Hubs were established as a mechanism for any woman or girl, independent or professional, to contribute to decision making, and to influence and shape services for women and girls across the city. The Hubs enable the engagement of women and girls, those working with women and girls and the wider women’s sector, to drive forward the priorities set by women and girls and to contribute to the vision for Leeds to be ‘The Best City’.

Both Hubs are formally recognised as Leeds Equality Hubs and are members of Leeds City Council’s Equality Assembly.

The Women’s Hub was established in March 2017 when members first came together to discuss and agree working priorities, one such being “Women’s Safety” and also to set the aim for Leeds to be “A Woman Friendly City” - the first of its kind in the U.K.
