About this event
- Event lasts 7 hours 30 minutes
The LEEP faculty development day is a one-day course that will enable clinicians who have formal leadership experience to deliver the entire LEEP programme and is an excellent opportunity to support leadership development.
The LEEP (Leading through Education for Excellent Patient care) programme is a comprehensive introdutory leadership development course for healthcare staff.
In this face to face session we will focus on the structure, delivery and facilitation of the course at the Education Centre, West Middlesex Hospital.
Lunch & Refreshments will be provided.
Frequently asked questions
As we will focus on delivery rather than content, it is important that attendees have a prior grasp of leadership concepts. Consultants, SAS, senior clinical and non-clinical staff with experience in leadership (e.g. band 7 or 8 nursing staff) are welcome, along with those who have completed LEEP.
If you would like to facilitate on LEEP courses, you can then attend a LEEP course supported by existing faculty. You can deliver as much or as little as you are comfortable with, and co-facilitate with others for as long as you need to.
At Chelsea and Westminster, we pay our faculty to deliver sessions (locum rates). This equates to £389 per half-day session for a consultant.
The course has been opened up to all clinical-based healthcare staff. We are currently inviting nurses and allied healthcare staff at band 6 and above as a priority.
The standard course is comprised of four half-day sessions. There is more information regarding the course itself on the booking page: https://www.eventbrite.com/cc/leep-2025-4059983
Parking is offered on a first-come-first serve basis at the public (non-staff) car park. Please send you car registration and details of your department/specialty to chelwest.leep.wm@nhs.net; the nearest train station is Syon Lane.
The education centre is best located by walking past the main entrance to the hospital by coming round the right side of the building (as you face it). As the path veers to the left there will be a few steps going down on your right with the Education Centre at the bottom on your right.
Walk to the end of the entrance hall, turn left and it is the first door on your left.
