Please join us on 17 December at 11:00 hours for a 90 mins webinar launching the results of a major University of Glasgow study. Researchers spent six months studying the lockdown experiences of four groups especially impacted by exclusion and marginalisation.

The event marks the launch of the project report and its key messages. (Details of timing and contributors of event to follow.) The voices of those going through lockdown show an intensification of hardship through:

• Barriers of information to understanding risks and following guidance around Covid-19
• The impacts of lockdown for people already facing challenges of isolation, food security, childcare and destitution
• Changing access to services and the added pressure on third sector and statutory providers

The Scotland in Lockdown study (official study title: “Health and Social Impacts of Covid-19 Suppression in Scotland for Vulnerable Groups”) is funded by the Chief Scientist Office, Scottish Government, under its rapid Covid-19 research programme.

Featuring contributors from some of the study's 20 third sector partner organisations and the Glasgow University team of researchers, led by Co-Principal Investigators Sarah Armstrong and Lucy Pickering, the webinar will share insights about:

• Refugees and asylum-seekers facing destitution;
• People in prison and otherwise affected by Criminal Justice including families;
• Survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence;
• Disabled people or those living with a long-term health condition

This webinar will be of interest to people affected by these issues, practitioners, policy makers, academics and media.
