Event description
Everyone is welcome to join us for an informative and encouraging session with Gill Lyth from Care for the Family.

About this Event

Much of modern society is dominated by the digital world, and our children are growing up with countless online possibilities at their fingertips. It’s an exciting world for them to explore, but there are potential dangers. As parents and carers, it’s natural to want to protect our children from any pitfalls.

During the seminar we will look at the strategies we can adopt to ensure our children gain the benefits of being online, whilst developing a responsible relationship with technology. With lots of helpful tips and practical ideas, you will gain confidence and encouragement for parenting in a world of screens.

Join us from 9am for breakfast and the seminar will start at 9.30am.

St Columba's is delighted to welcome Gill Lyth to encourage us all as we parent, grandparent or care for children in some other way. Gill is the National Representative for Care for the Family in Scotland. Gill works across Scotland equipping churches, and supporting those who are on the frontline engaging with families. Gill lives with her husband and 2 children in Scotland’s historic capital Dunfermline, and has fond memories of running her own chocolate making business, which made her very popular with her kids’ friends!

Care for the Family’s aim is to promote strong family relationships and to help those who face family difficulties. Working throughout the UK and the Isle of Man, we provide parenting, relationship and bereavement support through our events, resources, courses, and training. Our work is motivated by Christian compassion, and our resources and support are available to everyone, of any faith or none.
