Legal Update - The new Fire Safety Bill
Warren Spencer will be reviewing the developments of the last 12 months in relation to the new Fire Safety Bill and the Building Safety Bill and including comment on the EWS1 form, etc. He will also be discussing the application of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 in relation to supported living scenarios, concentrating on the responsibilities of carers and housing providers in those circumstances where domestic living accommodation becomes “the workplace”.
Leading fire safety-focused barrister Joseph Hart is set to discuss sentencing, how the Grenfell Tower tragedy has subsequently impacted Crown Court sentences themselves and also how the courts are now limited in their discretion when it comes to the sentences they can impose.
James Aird, who’s also a member of the fire safety law team at Blackhurst Budd Solicitors, will be evaluating the significance of Article 5 and, in particular, “the extent of your obligations” as outlined by contracts, tenancy and management agreements.
The panel members will be available for a live Q&A session and further discussion at the conclusion of the individual presentations.
