What is this training about?
Sometimes it can feel tricky to know how best to approach or respond to challenging situations and conversations. We can sometimes feel that there are barriers getting in the way of having good relationships with the families of students we teach and support. This training considers factors that often affect our ability to communicate well and what we can do that helps to build good communication.
What will you learn and gain from this training:
· Understanding of the communication-related challenges of your role.
· Learn about factors that affect our ability to communicate well.
· Explore approaches to communication that can improve our relationships.
Technology requirements:
Please note that this session is interactive and involves having conversations with a fellow attendee in pairs. This requires a working camera and microphone along with being located in a suitable environment so that you are able to participate.Please ensure ahead of the session that your equipment has a working camera and microphone and that you will be able to interact from the location you are using to attend.

PLEASE NOTE: this training session is only available to staff employed by schools and colleges within the Lancashire County Council area. Places cannot be allocated to people employed by other services or who work in schools outside this area.This training is fully funded by LCC and there is no charge to staff directly employed by a school or college within the LCC area.

Presentation slides and resources will be shared with all attendees after each session. We aim to foster a safe, confidential space in our training sessions where attendees are comfortable to contribute and share experiences if they wish. We do not allow the use of AI note-taking tools within our training sessions, and if AI tools join a meeting they will be removed and excluded from the session.
