What is this training about?
This training aims to help improve knowledge and skills around working with young people who are stressed, in distress or who find communication around how they feel difficult.
What will you learn and gain from this training:
·Principles around good communication, such as listening, empathy and communicating about emotions.
·Learning a range of skills that can be useful when communicating is difficult.
·Learning some evidence-based techniques for supporting young people whose mood, feelings of stress or behaviour may make communication challenging.
Who is this session for?
PATHWAYS: CORE AND REFRESHER, RELATIONSHIPS, PARENTS
This session will be useful and relevant for all education staff working in schools and colleges. It will give you a good knowledge and understanding of the topic, and ideas for ways in which you can support students.

PLEASE NOTE: this training session is only available to staff employed by schools and colleges within the Lancashire County Council area. Places cannot be allocated to people employed by other services or who work in schools outside this area.
This training is fully funded by LCC and there is no charge to staff directly employed by a school or college within the LCC area.

Presentation slides and resources will be shared with all attendees after each session. We aim to foster a safe, confidential space in our training sessions where attendees are comfortable to contribute and share experiences if they wish. We do not allow the use of AI note-taking tools within our training sessions, and if AI tools join a meeting they will be removed and excluded from the session.
