This session forms part of the Skills for the Mind Pathway of Support - For more information on our pathways of support and how these link to OFSTED, Department for Education and NICE guidance, please see our training pages on our website at www.lehss.co.uk

A practical session for colleagues, based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Whether you’re in a teaching, support, or leadership role, this session aims to help you make space for what may feel challenging and move towards what matters.

Through evidence-informed strategies, we will share insights into how to respond more calmly to challenges, stay connected to what’s important, and support both yourself and those around you, even in demanding moments.

This course offers practical tools to help you:

  • Respond to stress without being overwhelmed
  • Stay grounded and present in the moment
  • Reconnect with your values and purpose
  • Support your own wellbeing while supporting others
  • Build emotional resilience in everyday school life

PATHWAYS: SKILLS FOR THE MIND

This session will be useful and relevant for all education staff working in schools and colleges. It will give you a good knowledge and understanding of the topic, and some ideas for ways in which you can use the ideas either to support your own wellbeing or to promote ways of supporting and maintaining good wellbeing at work with your team.

What people have said about the course:

  • Applicable and informative for staff and pupils.
  • It gave me time to sit and think about what matters, and what strategies can be used in school
  • Very easy to follow, great presentation

This is an interactive session with exercises that ask for responses and involvement from attendees to maximise how applicable the session can be to your settings and experiences. With this aim in mind, we ask that, if possible, your equipment has a functioning microphone and camera.

PLEASE NOTE: this training session is only available to staff employed by schools and colleges within the Lancashire County Council area. Places cannot be allocated to people employed by other services or who work in schools outside this area.

This training is fully funded by LCC and there is no charge to staff directly employed by a school or college within the LCC area.

Please use your school or college email on registration to demonstrate your eligibility.

Presentation slides and resources will be shared with all attendees after each session. We aim to foster a safe, confidential space in our training sessions where attendees are comfortable to contribute and share experiences if they wish. We do not allow the use of AI note-taking tools within our training sessions, and if AI tools join a meeting they will be removed and excluded from the session.
