This sesssion supports LEHSS Skills of the Mind Pathway of Support


The teaching profession can be challenging. Many educators report feeling overwhelmed by workloads and the pressures of the role. This training session will explore ways that individual and whole team wellbeing, resilience and fulfilment can be maximised when working in complex and demanding environments. Focusing on the building blocks of resilience and wellbeing while consider how adjustments can be made individually, within teams and systemically across a whole organisation to enable staff to flourish. Suitable for individual staff members or leaders looking to understand and maximise opportunities to develop these skills for themselves professionally or for a whole setting.


This session is based on the ‘PERMA’ model of wellbeing, which is an evidence-based framework. PERMA stands for: Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning and Accomplishments. We will explain and explore practical ways that each these factors can be understood and nurtured for staff working in education settings.

In this session you will:

· Consider the challenges and pressures of your role.

· Learn about PERMA and how we can use it to improve personal and professional wellbeing.

· Explore during interactive exercises how the model can be applied individually and systemically within a whole school or college system.


PLEASE NOTE: this training session is only available to staff employed by schools and colleges within the Lancashire County Council area. Places cannot be allocated to people employed by other services or who work in schools outside this area.This training is fully funded by LCC and there is no charge to staff directly employed by a school or college within the LCC area.

Please use your school or college email on registration to demonstrate your eligibility.

Presentation slides and resources will be shared with all attendees after each session. We aim to foster a safe, confidential space in our training sessions where attendees are comfortable to contribute and share experiences if they wish.

We do not allow the use of AI note-taking tools within our training sessions, and if AI tools join a meeting they will be removed and excluded from the session.
