Join our Lates for the chance to visit Leighton House Museum, the former spectacular studio house of Frederic, Lord Leighton, until 9pm. Enjoy live music, free tours and much more with a complimentary glass of wine.

7 APRIL: Phelan Burgoyne Trio

Percussionist Phelan Burgoyne presents an evening of music from near and far at the Leighton House Museum reflecting the buildings cultural history. His trio featuring Jazz legend Martin Speake on saxophone and brilliant bass player and pianist Fred Thomas will play a programme of traditional music from Afghanistan, Syria, Turkey and India interspersed amongst pieces from Tudor England associated with Chapel Royal. Expect chanting melodies, visceral rhythms and strong atmospheres in this special West meets East performance.

12 MAY: Alex Hitchcock & Will Barry

Pianist Will Barry and saxophonist Alex Hitchcock share a musical history that goes back over ten years, including as contemporaries at the Royal Academy of Music. Between them they have played as sidemen with, amongst others, Jasper Hoiby, Laurence Cottle, Soweto Kinch, Perico Sambeat, and Clark Tracey. In their duo, they play original compositions as well as other repertoire ranging from Hermeto Pascoal to Lennie Tristano.

2 JUNE: Waiting for Alma-Tadema with AVM Curiosities

Following the success of 'Lickable Leighton' last year, we are delighted to work again with awarded food historian, Tasha Marks, founder of AVM Curiosities, to introduce a taste of our most-awaited exhibition Alma-Tadema: At Home in Antiquity, opening in July. Expect unexpected flavours, textures and fragances while you wander around Leighton's private palace of art, often frequented by fellow artist Alma-Tadema and a hub for artistic creation and miscellaneous entertainment.

Watch this space for further details about the bespoke tasting menu that Tasha will specially create for the evening and learn more about Alma-Tadema fascinating body of work, on display at Leighton House from 7 July to 2 October 2017.

>> Please note that the Museum Late performances have not been designed as formal concerts; people listen to the music while visiting the museum. There will be some seating available however by purchasing your ticket you don't secure a seat.

>> Leighton House Museum remains open until 9pm (last entry 8.30pm). Music from 6.30pm.Ticket price includes access to Museum, garden and a complimentary drink.
