Please join us for the launch event of the book "Leisure and Forced Migration: Lives Lived in Asylum Systems" with the editors (Dr. Nicola De Martini Ugolotti & Prof. Jayne Caudwell) and the contributors Dr. Aqeel Abdulla (King's College London), Dr. Sepandarmaz Mashreghi (Malmo University, Sweden), Dr. Donatella Schmidt and Dr. Giovanna Palutan (University of Padua, Italy), Dr. Nadyne Venturini-Trindade (Loughborough University), Claire Collison (University of Brighton), Dr. Spencer Swain (York St John University), and Dr. Chris Webster (PAFRAS, Positive Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers, Leeds). The book launch will include short presentations from the contributors and a Q & A session with the audience.
"Leisure and Forcd Migration" offers a timely and critical exploration of leisure and forced migration from multiple disciplinary perspectives, spanning sociology, gender studies, migration studies and anthropology. It engages with perspectives and experiences that unsettle and oppose dehumanising and infantilising binaries surrounding forced migrants in contemporary society.
