This course is designed for those who have no or little experience in floristry techniques

About this Event

Description

Care and conditioning plus plant and flower identification will be covered as well as gift packaging and a range of basic floristry designs. Students will be required to provide their own fresh materials. Some wires, tapes, foam and sundry items are available for purchase from the tutor. A materials list for the first week will be provided upon booking.

You will need to bring: writing materials to take your own course notes. Please bring floristry scissors if you have them. For the first session, the College will provide all materials required to produce your first piece, please bring £15 to cover the costs. After the first session, you will be required to purchase and bring fresh flowers (up to £15) each week to the course.

Parking is available at Suffolk Rural with no charge.

Are refreshments available?

Our refectories will not be open, so you may wish to bring your own refreshments with you. Drinks vending machines are available on campus.

What precautions are in place relating to Covid 19?

If you are showing any symptoms or have been in contact with anyone showing symptoms in the last 14 days, please do not travel or attend the college.

The college has implemented a range of adjustments in line with Government guidelines. This includes introducing a one-way system around the building, reconfiguring rooms and ventilation, wearing face coverings in communal areas and when 2m distance cannot be maintained such as when being taught a specific skill, applying social distancing in the communal areas and in classrooms/workshops, washing hands with soap and water often for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer gel if soap and water not available.
