Description

Join us for our October pop up restaurant with graduates from Leiths Cookery School of Food and Wine. Founded by Prue Leith in 1975, Leiths has an international reputation as a first class culinary institute for chefs.

Take a British Olympian who has travelled the world, Nik Fairbrother, an Irish woman, Caroline Guiney, who discovered her love for food while living in Japan, Ros Caffyn, winner of the Prue Leiths Wine Student of the Year add head chef Bénédicte Young, who grew up in the French Alps and you have a new team of chefs, passionate about real food.

Sue Nixon and Kate Henry will be giving an helping hand to the event. Questions respectively about Hugh Grant and Great British Bake Off are off limits !

The team have been classically trained at the Leiths School of Food and Wine and all graduated with Distinction.

They have worked in various fine dining kitchens including The Dysart (Richmond), The Glass house (Kew), The Delaunay and the Modern Pantry in London and the Michelin starred, El Monastrell in Spain.

The evening will commence at 7.30pm when you will be welcomed with a glass of English sparkling wine. You will then be guided through a five-course tasting menu each course with a wine pairing (should you choose to purchase a wine flight with your food ticket).

Venison Carpaccio with Jerusalem Artichoke Purée and Squash Chips

Grilled Mackerel with Smoked Beetroot Brunoise , Horseradish Cream , Dried Capers and Hazelnut Sourdough Crumbs . Served with Soda Bread and Sea Salt Butter

Slow Roasted Wild Boar with Wild Mushrooms Fricassée, Squash Fondant and Pomme D'Anna

Rathfinny Seven Sisters G&T Sorbet

Roasted Almond Pannacotta with Expresso Caramel, Nougatine, Poach Pear Brunoise and Beurre Noisette Madeleine

£55 per person, £80 with a wine flight (please note, if you do not purchase a wine flight, there will be no other alcohol to purchase on the evening as each of the dishes have been paired with specific wines)

Start time: 7.30pm, ending approximately 10.30pm.

We will do a mini bus pick up from Berwick station at 7.20pm and from Alfriston village, Waterloo Square at 7.25pm and will drop guests back after the event. Please let us know if you wish to take this bus as spaces are limited - email us on events@rathfinnyestate.com.

There are limited seats around our communal table so please book your tickets early to avoid disappointment.
