Leonardo da Vinci - Would He Have Made a Good u3a Member?
Event Information
About this Event
Imagine if Leo joined your local u3a... What would he be interested in learning and what might he teach you? Why did he learn? How did he express his learning? What inspired him?
To answer these questions Catherine Stevenson, Chair of Newcastle u3a, will explore relevant references to the historical background of his life and works, delving into Da Vinci's skills and talents - illustrated by some of his inventions and anatomical diagrams.
Catherine will then present 3 of his most famous paintings for reflection and brief analysis, to gain further insight into his genius.
Finally, bringing together various aspects of Leonardo's life and works, we will consider what he might have been like as a u3a member!
