Lesley Riddoch and Duncan Halley in Aviemore: McSmörgåsbord
Sun 30 April 2017, 18:00 – 20:00 BST
Lesley Riddoch will be visiting Aviemore to give a talk about her new book McSmorgasbord: What post-Brexit Scotland can learn from the Nordics. Join her and Duncan Halley, one of the Nordic experts featured in the book, for an evening of debate at the Cairngorm Hotel in Aviemore on 30 April at 6pm, hosted by Waterstones Aviemore and Luath Press. Lesley and Duncan will give a talk followed by discussion and book signing.
McSmörgåsbord is the first book to examine the multitude of ways Nordic states and even sub-nations relate to Europe ‒ and it comes at a crucial juncture. Brexit within the UK or EU membership with independence? Is there a third way already built by our Nordic neighbours?
The unique combination of personal experience and experts’ insights give McSmörgåsbord its hands-on character: pragmatic and thought-provoking, challenging and instructive, full of amazing stories and useful comparisons, enriching the debates about Scotland’s post-Brexit future as a Nordic neighbour.
