Join us for an inspiring evening with James Wallman as he explores how we can break free from 'Stuffocation' and discover a more happy and meaningful way of life.
Hot on the heels of "Black Friday" - the craziest shopping day of the year - James will look at why our obsession with material things is making life more stressful and less fulfilling.... and what we can do to help put things right.
James will describe how the 'age of stuff' is coming to an end and why experiences matter so much more than things. He'll also share tips on how to de-stuffocate our lives and focus more on creating good memories... and more happiness.
"Like The Tipping Point meets Freakonomics - but with a huge idea at its heart. Fascinating, inspiring and great fun” ~ Laura Atkinson (Sunday Times)
About The Speaker
James Wallman is an author, journalist, and trend forecaster. He was T3's futurology columnist and his views have appeared in The Economist, the Financial Times, the Sunday Times, the New York Times, Marketing Week, The Guardian and beyond.
James' acclaimed book, Stuffocation is about one of the defining cultural trends of the 21st century: the shift from materialism to “experientialism”. Instead of looking for happiness, identity, status and meaning in material goods, people are now seeking them in experiences instead.
“Experientialism, as Wallman calls it, will define our future just as materialism has shaped our present” ~ Observer
