Description

To complement the work that is currently ongoing and aim to support the local healthcare economy manage referrals more effectively, NHS England is hosting a series of half-day events across the south region in October 2017. The events are free to attend.

These interactive workshops are open to commissioners, managers and clinicians across the south region involved improving elective services and reducing demand.

Each event will introduce:

  • examples of new initiatives that are actively managing demand

  • breaking down the barriers to best practice

  • an expert panel discussing the merits of successful schemes such as peer review, shared decision making and advice and guidance models

  • question and answer session

Speakers include: NHS England national elective care and demand management programme; South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit’s transformation team; and case studies from across the patch, sharing their experiences and good practice.
