We're holding a series of Zoom conversations examining how we can learn from and build on new ways of thinking and working that have arisen from the Coronavirus crisis.

Community Activism

Open to all activists out there! Have you brought people together while we’ve been kept apart? What has that meant to you, or your community? Has activism changed forever, and how, or what, do you want it to be in future?

About Lessons from Lockdown

Before the virus, activists and organisations in Wales had ambitions for radical improvement and change. Influenced and inspired by both the Future Generations Act and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) research, policy and practice was shifting towards strengths-based, collaborative, relational and even kinder ways of both being and doing.

There were, of course, significant barriers to these ambitions. Some of these were deep-set and culturally-specific to communities, sectors, organisations or local areas. Others were practical, such as legislative, commissioned or process requirements. There were also the huge structural barriers, such as poverty and discrimination.

Together, we want to understand what impact the virus has had on the ambitions we held. We need to listen, share and develop the new ways of being, working and thinking that have stemmed from necessity, and allowed us to tackle the barriers we faced.

We need to make sure we don’t lose the things we’ve learnt, so that the innovation sparked by lockdown can continue to flourish.

Join us as we reflect on what we’ve discovered, learn from each other, and turn the things we’ve overcome into radical, sustainable positive change for the future. It’s time to see what lessons we can learn from lockdown.

Ar agor i bob gweithredwr allan yna! Ydych chi wedi dod â phobl ynghyd tra ein bod ni wedi cael ein cadw ar wahân? Beth mae hynny wedi ei olygu i chi, neu i'ch cymuned? A yw actifiaeth wedi newid am byth, a sut, neu beth, ydych chi am iddo fod yn y dyfodol?

Ynghylch Canfyddiadau’r Cyfyngiadau Symud

Cyn i’r firws ymddangos, roedd gan weithredwyr a sefydliadau yng Nghymru uchelgeisiau ar gyfer gwelliannau a newid radical. Dan ddylanwad a chydag ysbrydoliaeth Deddf Llesiant Cenedlaethau’r Dyfodol ac ymchwil ar Brofiadau Niweidiol mewn Plentyndod (Adverse Childhood Experiences/ACEs) ill dau, roedd polisi ac arfer yn symud tuag at ffyrdd o fod a gwneud sy’n canolbwyntio ar gryfderau, sy’n gydweithredol ac yn garedicach.

Roedd rhwystrau sylweddol yn wynebu’r uchelgeisiau hyn, wrth gwrs. Roedd rhai o’r rhain yn treiddio’n ddwfn a dan ddylanwad diwylliant penodol cymunedau, sectorau, sefydliadau neu ardaloedd lleol. Roedd eraill yn rhwystrau ymarferol, fel gofynion deddfwriaethol, comisiynu neu brosesau. Roedd rhwystrau strwythurol hefyd, fel tlodi a gwahaniaethu.

Gyda’n gilydd, rydym am ddeall pa effaith mae’r feirws wedi’i gael ar yr uchelgeisiau a fu gennym. Mae angen inni wrando, rhannu a datblygu ffyrdd newydd o weithio ac o feddwl sydd wedi codi o anghenraid ac a’n galluogodd i fynd i’r afael â’r rhwystrau fu’n ein hwynebu.

Mae angen inni wneud yn siŵr nad ydyn ni’n colli’r pethau rydym wedi’u dysgu, fel bod yr arloesedd a sbardunwyd o fod dan gyfyngiadau symud yn parhau i ffynnu.

Ymunwch â ni wrth inni fyfyrio ar yr hyn rydym wedi’i ddarganfod, i ddysgu gan ein gilydd, ac i droi’r pethau rydym wedi’u goresgyn yn newid radical, cynaliadwy ar gyfer y dyfodol. Mae’n bryd inni weld pa wersi allwn ni eu dysgu o’r cyfnod o gyfyngiadau symud.
