Join County of Song’s Loz Kaye for a vocal workshop exploring songs celebrating the power of singing to boost our health and wellbeing. We’ll be giving the voice a workout with singing for health exercises and exploring music new and familiar. We’ll also explore combining singing and signing.This engaging session is inspired by the theme of resilience– and music’s power to bring us together. Come and find your shine!

You don’t need any particular experience or to read music, just be willing to have a go. Material will be provided, and you can have access to it ahead of time digitally. We are happy for families and young people to join. People under 15 should be accompanied by an adult .Do let us know of any access needs through Eventbrite.

This workshop is leading up to a fun, relaxed sharing by Encounter Voices, County of Song and Connect Community Choir on the stage at The Encounter Festival in Preston in the afternoon of Saturday September 20th. All participants will be able to take part, though you are more than welcome just to come and enjoy the workshop alone.

Saturday 30th August 10:30AM – 12 noon at The Gregson Centre, 33-35 Moorgate, Lancaster, LA1 3PY

Venue: The Hall at the Gregson Centre

Access information – Step free access to the Hall from Williamson Road. Access from the Moorgate entrance via lift, accessible toilet. Do message us with any specific access needs.

Loz Kaye is a musical director and composer with a passion for the public power of music. He is specialist in community based vocal projects, and is current leader of Hope Mill Community Choir and Director of the project County of Song. Previous work at Lancashire Encounter has included the participatory projects “Right Here, Right Now”, “The Last Rose”and “Lights That Lead Us There”.
