Join artists Andi Walker and Tessa Houghton for a dynamic, full-day experimental workshop exploring the infinite possibilities of drawing.
Working together throughout the day, Andi and Tessa will guide you through a series of playful, intuitive and skill-building exercises that fuse experimental and traditional approaches to drawing. We'll explore how and why we draw, using a range of materials, senses, and techniques to develop a visually rich and personal style of mark-making.
Throughout the day, we’ll explore both still life and life drawing through a series of playful, multisensory exercises designed to challenge how we see, feel, and respond to the subject. Working both individually and collaboratively, we’ll experiment with intuitive mark-making and sensory prompts while also developing our observational skills. A life model will be present for part of the session, offering a chance to expand our visual language and build expressive, layered drawings.
This workshop is designed to stretch your creative boundaries and deepen your observational skills—whether you're a complete beginner or looking to refresh your practice.
The session will take place in the beautiful project space at East Street Arts’ Patrick Studios.
All are welcome!
