ICAN UK (the UK branch of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons) needs your help: we want to gather together some of the country's most innovative and dynamic campaigners for a hackathon to develop ideas ahead of a week of actions in September. You don’t need to know anything about nuclear weapons – just have a desire to make the world a safer place.
On Saturday 4th June we're hosting a hackathon at the Medact offices in Old Street, London. We'll be bringing campaigners from a range of backgrounds to share their skills and experiences with each other and we will also be hearing from Elixabeth Chappell, a journalist, Buddhist, and researcher at the Open University, on the moral case for scrapping Trident.
We will provide food (cake!) and a collaborative, productive atmosphere as well as a decent lunch break with an opportunity to socialise and meet other campaigners.
Ideally, some of the people contributing ideas will also want to get involved in some creative actions for the campaign, but at this stage it's all about generating and sharing ideas.
Come. Create. Eat. And create some more.
