Description

LET'S CELEBRATE!

All Weds in August, 14.00 - 16.00, The Engine Room, The Exchange

THE EXCHANGE IS TURNING 10! - To celebrate we have tasked Alice Ellis-Bray to conjure up a marvellous series of children's workshops, inspired by the bright and coloured works in our summer exhibition A Certain Kind Of Light.

All ages, U7s to be accompanied by adult.

£5 per workshop, booking through eventbrite.

Workshop 1: Wed 2nd August - SUN CATCHERS

In this workshop you will create beautiful visuals that explode with colour, inspired by Peter Lanyon's sculpture in the exhibition.

Workshop 2: Wed 9th August - DRAWING WITH STRING

This time we will be looking at Mark Titchner's sculpture and explore string and wool as a drawing material. How does it work? - Come and find out!

Workshop 3: Wed 16th August - SHADOW STORIES

Shadow and light play a big role in Ceal Floyer's installation. Make your own characters and 3D sculptures to tell stories in our shadow theatre.

Workshop 4: Wed 23rd August - RECYCLED ART

Lots and lots of colourful plastic bottles make up David Batchelor's installation. Using recycled materials you will create colourful architecture and landscape models that light up at night!

Workshop 5: Wed 30th August - LOOKING GLASS LAND MASKS

What do you see when you look at things - and when things look back at you? Having a closer look at Anish Kapoor's sculpture you will be making magical masks from special materials.
