Description

Join us for our 2016 End-of-Year Gathering to celebrate the achievements of Redcar and Cleveland Social Enterprises and look ahead to how this sector of the local economy can be inspired for new heights in 2017.

Like other businesses, Social Enterprises have experienced challenges and barriers to their success throughout 2016. Despite the struggles, they have maintained their social missions. By addressing social needs in the way they do, Social Enterprises bring entrepreneurial solutions to people’s needs, thereby improve communities, people’s life chances or the environment. The exceptional mind-set and dedication which enables them to create or improve ventures, explore opportunities and maximise profit for our local economic prosperity have been central to their success.

The valuable support of Redcar & Cleveland Council and other strategic partners in breaking down barriers preventing social entrepreneurship is acknowledged. There is need to build on the experience, insight and innovation of all partners to further tackle challenges in their joint mission of enhancing the economic growth of the borough.

The event will:

  • celebrate some of the achievements of local social enterprises and recognise them as valued and vibrant part of the local economy
  • provide an opportunity for delegates to share information and connect to opportunities
  • further enlighten public sector commissioners, managers and planners about Social Enterprise and the opportunities it presents.

Who should attend?

  • Social enterprise leaders and managers.
  • Emerging and early stage social entrepreneurs.
  • Public sector commissioners, managers and planners.
