“Look deep into nature and you will understand everything better.”

― Einstein

Come and walk the sacred wisdom of the Wheel Of The Year with us as as we celebrate the Summer Solstice in our magical Wiltshire woodland.

The wheel of the year brings together the ancient Celtic, Nordic and Pagan celebrations which mark the turning points of the year and honour our connection with nature and its cycles. This includes the solstices, equinoxes, and midpoints in-between. By walking the wheel, we learn about the cycles we have in our own lives and how we can find balance by aligning to nature's rhythms. This is in stark contrast to our fast-paced modern lifestyles which are linear, constant, and without time to rest or to release what no longer serves. By observing nature and our outer world, we are also able to reflect upon what is taking place in our inner worlds which, in turn, opens us up to the great wisdom that lies within each of us.

The Summer Solstice is a celebration of the longest day of the year and the vibrant growth and abundant beauty that surrounds us. We will honour the sun and the gifts it bestows to us here on Earth and harness this potent seasonal energy by weaving in meditation, mindful movement, ritual, nature craft, cacao ceremony, journaling, storytelling, feasting and plenty of time just “be-ing” in the forest.

At all of our woodland workshops you will:

  • Find time to pause, be still and listen
  • Deepen your connection to nature's rhythms
  • Enjoy a nourishing lunch, snacks and refreshment (including good coffee!)
  • Develop your journey of personal and spiritual development
  • Be empowered to create a life full of meaning and purpose
  • Meet a community of like-minded people

More information and what to expect

Itinerary: Each workshop has a different focus to correspond to the earth festival being celebrated and the changing seasons. A itinerary will be sent after booking. However, you will enjoy common threads throughout the series with an emphasis on meditation, mindful movement, ritual, nature craft, journaling, and time just “be-ing” in the forest. We use sound and silence to deepen the sense of connection and always have a gift for you to take home to anchor the intentions you have set during the day.

Location: Our workshops take place at The Wise Woods project within a magical woodland near Corsham and Box in Wiltshire. We have access to shelter and the warmth of a fire-pit. We also have use of compost toilets and plenty of parking. We’ll be joined by many woodland friends so aim to keep light and noise disturbance to a minimum for their enjoyment as well as ours. We also recommend that you bring layers to adapt to changing weather conditions as we will be outside in nature and under open-sided shelters, and that you wear appropriate footwear (no open-toed shoes).

Timing: Wherever possible, our seasonal celebrations take place on the nearest Sunday before the turning point. The Summer Solstice is a full day celebration and runs from 10am until 4pm (note: we run half day celebrations during the darker months of Samhain through to Imbolc). Celebrations can be attended as a one-off event or as a year-long / on-going journey. There will be a cumulative benefit by attending multiple events but simply attending one workshop will still bring great benefit and the potential for transformation. The Wheel of the Year is cyclical so there is no defined starting point and you are welcome to join us at any point. Every time we walk the wheel, we spiral deeper and see this as an on-going, life long journey of self and spiritual development.

Price: £75 per person minimum donation to cover our costs. This includes a nourishing vegetarian lunch, snacks, refreshments, all activities and a gift to anchor intentions from the day. We are selling these as donation-based tickets to minimise our costs as a not-for-profit and have concession tickets available should the price be prohibitive (please email us). We are also very grateful to all those who pay-it-forward by paying more than the suggested minimum so that we can continue to offer concessionary spaces.

Food and drink: We offer hearty, healthy, seasonal, and earth-loving vegetarian foods and will have tea, coffee and soft drinks available throughout the day. Gluten free and dairy free options will be served as standard for everyone. Should you have any additional dietary requirements, just let us know in advance.

Group size: Our workshops are kept deliberately small to create a safe, supportive and transformational environment of like-minded people. We are initially releasing just 13 tickets.

Your facilitators: The workshops are facilitated by Michelle Hawkins-Collins and Sue Judge. Michelle is the founder of The Wisdom Space C.I.C, a Gerontologist or specialist in ageing, shinrin yoku (forest bathing guide) and is on her Druid path. Sue is a natural wellness coach, nutritionist and Elder of The Wisdom Space. Between them, they are trained in many disciplines including meditation, mindfulness, holistic massage, positive psychology, and eco-psychology. At each workshop, we invite in local experts to bring in new energy, learn new skills and to showcase the amazing talent we have in our wider community.

Frequently asked questions

Why is this a donation-based ticket?

We run as a not-for-profit and aim to keep our costs as low as possible. Eventbrite supports donation based events by charging much lower fees which means we can offer lower prices as well. Contact us directly to enquire about concessionary spaces.

How many people will be in the group?

We have 13 spaces only for this event. Our events are intentionally small to create an intimate experience where people feel comfortable and have plenty of opportunities for meaningful connection.

Is there parking?

Yes, there is plenty of parking at the site itself and on the road outside. We do encourage life shares and will ask attendees to let us know if they are happy to offer this.

Is there public transport?

There is a bus stop about 10 minutes walk away. We can send details upon booking. The nearest train station is Bradford on Avon and this has a taxi rank outside. It will take about 12 minutes in a taxi from the train station to arrive at the venue.

How accessible is the venue?

There is a flat walk from the car park into the main area we will be using. However, we will be also enjoying the woodland which is on gradient and accessed via steps or a slope. We are in the process of applying for grant funding to turn the compost toilets into a disabled toilet.

What toilets and hand washing facilities do you have?

We have two compost toilets in the main area of the site by the car park and another 4 toilets in the woods. There is running water for hand washing throughout the site.

Is there drinking water?

Yes, we have mains-supplied drinking water on site

What if it is cold and wet?

We have access to various shelters and The Stable to protect us from the elements and a fire pit for warmth. However, we recommend that you bring warm and waterproof clothing for inclement weather and will send out a suggested kit list nearer the time.

Can I get a refund?

You are automatically entitled to a refund if we cancel, move or reschedule the event. We realise life is not always predictable so also offer a refund up to 7 days before the event starts or if we are able to re-allocate your ticket after this time.

Can I bring my own food?

Yes! We will have lots of lovely nourishing food and drinks available and can cater for dietary requirements but you are very welcome to bring your own. All we ask is that you take your food and packaging away with you to help us look after the woodland.

What if I have an allergy?

Let us know on the sign up form and bring any medication you may need with you.
