By January 5th, 2017, London had already breached its annual air pollution limit. Air pollution has been linked to diseases including Alzheimer’s, and heart disease, and it is estimated that NO2 emissions alone cause 5900 early deaths annually across the capital.
We invite you to take the challenge of designing an innovative solution to tackling air pollution across London, helping us tackle our biggest environmental challenge.
“Let’s clear the air” is a design thinking activity, which will challenge you to design and create a prototype to help tackle the illegal pollution limits in London. You will have the opportunity to pitch your product to panel of Imperial’s academics. Prizes will be awarded to the winning product, and you will have the opportunity to network at the festival.
Mayor SadiqKhan has pledged £875 million to tackle the problem over 5 years – could your idea be part of the solution? Winning ideas will be taken to 2017’s EIT Health Innovation Day, feeding future health innovations.
