Moving beyond the usual large panel discussion, this event is designed to create a more intimate and personal experience. After a brief introduction from each speaker, small groups of attendees will circulate to different tables to hear from a brilliant assortment of death experts.

Over the course of the evening, you'll have the opportunity to speak with different panelists, creating a truly fascinating and meaningful experience.


About the panelists

Allistair Anderson - Funeral Director
Allistair started working in the funeral industry in 1994 and has had wide variety of roles with some of the best local and national undertakers, cemeteries and crematoria in London. Allistair regards it as the highest honour to be able to serve people at one of the most difficult, life-changing moments in their own lives. He believes in empowering people, so they have control and are able to have the funeral they want & need.

Anita Justice - Hospice Worker
Anita works at St Joseph’s Hospice in Hackney supporting bereaved people and training volunteers to provide compassionate support in the community. She has worked in health and social care for over 20 years- mostly in east London.

Ann Kenrick - End of Life Doula
Ann Kenrick OBE is former CEO of the Charterhouse almshouse and carehome, volunteer and Trustee at St Christopher’s Hospice and of Cruse Bereavement, member of End of Life Doula UK and founder of End of Life Matters, a venture supporting people of all ages to achieve peace of mind by preparing End of Life plans.

Anna May - Student Grief Network founder
Anna May is founder of the Student Grief Network and Executive Head of Kaplan International Grief Programmes. She lost her brother as a child, and her dad as a young adult, and is passionate about improving the support that people get following a bereavement. She runs grief workshops and training in universities across the country, sharing her own story, and passing on wisdom she has built up through hundreds of conversations with other grievers. She is also an artist, and interested in how creativity can help untangle trauma and build fairer, more connected ways of living.

Dr Antke Hagena - Palliative Care Consultant
Antke is currently Consultant in Palliative Care at North Middlesex University Hospital and previously at Marie Curie Hospice. Antke has been working in Palliative Care since 1999.

Jo Napthine - Funeral Celebrant
Jo trained as an actress at The Guildford School of Acting and spent over 25 years performing in the West End. As with all our lives, the experience of loss and grief significantly touched Jo, shaping the way she understands the world around her and giving her a strong sense of compassion. She became a celebrant as it felt like a natural calling - she loves meeting people and hearing their life stories.

Dr Rachel Nunn- Geriatrician
Rachel has been a consultant at North Middlesex University Hospital since 2019. She is dual accredited in geriatrics and general medicine. Rachel has a special interest in perioperative medicine and works across general surgery and urology supporting with the care of frail surgical patients.

Sam Dodd - animal end of life specialist
Sam has been a palliative, disabled and elderly cat fosterer for East London charity, Celia Hammond Animal Trust, for six years. In addition to helping these animals reach the end of their lives with dignity and peace, she has also helped out similarly for many others at Spitalfields City Farm, where she works. She is currently awaiting Blue Cross training to become a Pet Death Doula.

Tilly is one of the co-founders of Let's Discuss Death. She has worked in bereavement support for the charity Cruse, as a funeral director and is a member of End of Life Doula UK.
