About this event
The launch party for this new book covering the history of recorded popular music, from ragtime to the rock era. We’ll have a Q+A with Bob Stanley hosted by pop curator Jonny Trunk, with music from the book performed by Debsey Wykes and Gus Bousfield. And there will be a book signing, courtesy of Salts Mill Books. 7pm start.
“An encyclopedic introduction to the fascinating and often forgotten creators of Anglo-American hit music in the first half of the Twentieth Century.” Neil Tennant
“An essential work – one that should be an integral component of any serious music lover’s library. Let’s Do It is the definitive story of pre-rock ‘n’ roll.” Adelle Stripe
“I know a lot about popular music. I didn’t know half of this.” David Hepworth
This will be followed by more live music at our regular jazz night at the slightly later than usual time of 8.15pm.
