How can we end loneliness in our communities?
1 in 6 older people in Somerset say that they often feel lonely
Loneliness increases the risk of ill-health and delays recovery time
Lonely people are more likely to smoke, drink alcohol and have poor diets
Loneliness is linked to depression and suicidal behaviours
Join us to learn more about the effects of loneliness. Hear from local and national projects already working successfully to address the issue. The event is aimed at anyone concerned with this important issue including health and social care providers; voluntary and community groups; town, parish and district councils.
Share good practice, network, identify practical ways to address the issue and provide support in our communities.
