Who is this event for?

This training day and workshop is an essential tool to maintaining our Let's Fish standards of delivery, technical skills and understanding of the Let's Fish process to help maintain the stardard of delivery at peak performance. It is essential that all our coaches attend at least one of these events each year and we do encourage parents, grandparents, carers and guardians to join us to help, learn and understand all the benefits the world of fishing has to offer.

Arrive at 9.30. Tea & Coffee. Commence 10am prompt.

Who is eligible to attend?

· Existing coaches in order to gain new knowledge or be reminded of what they already know

· Prospective new coaches

· Keen parents who want to learn more to support their offspring

· Keen young anglers including those who might wish to volunteer or become coaches when they reach 16.

Itinerary

Arrive 9.30am

10.00 to 10.30. Having everything to hand. The importance of organisation and correct tackle layout, whether coaching or in your own fishing. Simon Mottram

10.30 to12.00. The ten most commonly seen mistakes when making canal fishing rigs. Simon Mottram.

12.00 to 12.30. Why whips are not the best tools for Let’s Fish coaching in most circumstances and probably don’t offer the best long-term solution for new starters either. J Ellis.

12.30 - 1.15 Lunch

1.15 to1.45. Let’s Fish 2024. Strategy, key objectives & delivery plans. J Ellis

1.45 to 2.15. From angling beginner to angling coach, the Julia Ryan story.

2.15 to 3.00. The importance of Front of House in maximising the success of the Let’s Fish programme. Mike Heylin

3.00 to 3.30. The power of momentum in helping develop the angling habit. J Ellis

3.30 to 4.00. Q & A round Up, general debate and conclusions. All

Please book a ticket for each attendee to enable us to gauge numbers for catering purposes ensuring each ticket is booked in the correct name.

What do I need to bring?

A note pad and suitable clothing for the expected weather conditions.

Developing your fishing skills

Each year, we hold the national celebration of young people and fishing event open to all keen young anglers, including all Let’s Fish attendees aged between 7 & 20. The London marathon of young people's fishing, it's an event that any young person should experience at least once in their fishing journey.
