Event description

Description

Many individuals who are living with serious mental health problems are not physically active. Regular physical activity is one important way of helping individuals improve their physical, mental, and social health. Yet despite the importance of regular activity, few supports exist for patients, practitioners, and caregivers. This lecture will describe the findings of a recent research study conducted by the University of Portsmouth and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust that examined how information about physical activity is currently provided to patients living with serious mental health problems, their practitioners, and their caregivers and how that information can be improved.

Light refreshments will be provided. Financial support for travel to and from this event is available. Please enquire with Dr. Paul Gorczynski (paul.gorczynski@port.ac.uk) for details.
