Event description

Description

Digital technology is the new black. Care and support providers are enthusiastically embracing all things digital by introducing it into their operational systems and in their work with supported people. This 'transformation' is bringing a range of benefits and challenges for organisations and staff.

This event will examine the new Scottish Goverment Digital Health and Social Care Strategy workforce stream, and how it can support and accelerate the transformation within organisations in relation to workforce skills and culture change. We will hear from the Scottish Government about activity within the workforce stream of the Strategy, and from CCPS members about their work with staff to develop digital skills and capabilities and reflect on existing resources, gaps and good practice. We will also hear from the SSSC and the Care Inspectorate on the resources and support available, and on the place of digital technology in inspection and service improvement, including practical demonstrations.

Speakers will include Alan Milbourne, Scottish Government Digital Enabled Workforce Lead, a range of CCPS members working with staff on digital transformation; Phillip Gillespie, Director of Development and Innovation and Keith Quinn Learning and Development Manager (Digital Learning) from the SSSC, and Care Inspectorate representatives.

This event is aimed at colleagues with strategic responsibility for:

  • learning and development
  • digital technology

And front line staff working with and championing digital technology.

Outcomes for participants:

  • improved understanding of the Scottish Government’s Digital Health and Social Care Strategy Workforce Domain D and how the third sector can engage and benefit from it
  • shared understanding of workforce learning and development needs and gaps in resources across the spectrum of voluntary sector care and support providers in relation to digital skills
  • increased awareness of the good practice across the sector in developing digital skills and encouraging culture change

The event will begin at 10 am and finish at 1.30 pm, with a networking lunch from 1-1.30 pm.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Nancy Fancott

Policy and Development Officer, CCPS Digital Programme
