Event description

Description

Sue Ryder invites you to a free conference on human rights in end of life care on 6th February 2018 at The Royal Society, London, from 1-6pm.

The title of the conference is ‘Let’s get it right: putting human rights at the heart of end of life care’ and we are delighted to be hosting guest speakers Dr Sanchita Hosali, Acting Director of the British Institute of Human Rights, Dr Sarah Russell, Head of Research and Clinical Innovation at Hospice UK, and Lesley Goodburn. Lesley will share the true story of her and her husband Seth who, at 49 years old, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer following a short history of feeling unwell. He died 33 days later. Lesley and Seth’s story raises many human rights issues.

This free event is designed to continue to engage anyone who has attended one of our ‘What matters to me’ workshops and will offer opportunities for continuing professional development and networking with other professionals in end of life care.

Come along to reflect on how human rights training has influenced your practice or approach to care, share your experiences with others who’ve attended a workshop and keep up-to-date on new developments in this field.

This event is free, but places are limited and on a first-come-first-served basis. We recommend you book early to avoid disappointment.
