Let’s Get Listening! is a one-day interactive course run by the charity Listen Well Scotland, designed for anyone who wants to deepen their listening skills, connect more meaningfully with others, and understand the impact listening has on individual and community wellbeing.
Whether you're involved in a community group, support role, education, healthcare, or simply want to become a better listener in everyday life, this course is for you.
You will explore:
- WHY LISTEN? – The link between listening and wellbeing
- WHAT IS LISTENING? – What it means to really listen to another person
- HOW TO USE LISTENING – Skills and approaches you can apply in real life
By the end of the day, you’ll be able to:
✓ Recognise the importance of listening to the whole person✓ Practise active, empowering listening✓ Reflect on your own experience of being listened to✓ Explore what makes a good listener✓ Understand the connection between listening and mental wellbeing✓ Identify how to build a stronger listening culture in your group or organisation✓ Develop greater self-awareness as a “listening person”
This is more than a skills course – it’s training with a purpose. You’ll leave not just with tools, but with a deeper understanding of how listening can shape relationships, strengthen communities, and improve health and wellbeing.
