Let's Get Together Stroll - War Memorials Walk
Join us for A Walk to Remember on
Thursday 16 May at 11am
Starting from the High Cross Monument, Jubilee Square
Finishing at All Saints Church, Highcross Street.
Allow 60 minutes for the walk and 30 minutes to visit All Saints.

Enjoy a friendly short walk through pleasant city streets, with a little information along the way. This month join us for A Walk to Remember, as we take in some of Leicester's forgotten war memorials - some in unusual locations - with a little information about them. Locations include city streets, churches, a former factory and a night club. We finish at All Saints church to discover the many war memorials saved by the Leicester City, County & Rutland At Risk War Memorials Project. Volunteers from the charity will welcome walkers and talk about their work.

Allow up to 90 minutes in total - about 60 minutes for the walk and 30+ minutes for the visit, although walkers may wish to stay longer. All Saints has no heating so walkers are advised to wear layers! This walk is free to attend but places must be booked.

New Walkers

If you have not walked with Leicester City Council before we will ask you to complete our Walker Registration form in advance of the walk online or by phone. You will receive an email with a link to the online form in the days leading up to the event. You only need to do this once and can attend any of our walks thereafter (subject to booking a place on Eventbrite).

Dress for the weather

Remember to dress appropriately for the weather. Our group walks will go ahead in most weather. We recommend the following:

• Comfortable sturdy footwear

• Bring a raincoat or umbrella in case of rain

• On cooler days wear appropriate layers and a coat/jacket

• On hot days we recommend a hat and sunscreen

• Please bring a bottle of water with you.

Group size

We ask walkers to book in advance so we can keep our group sizes manageable.
