Come to Let’s Keep it Legal to see the following local speakers:
Paula Harris is a Solicitor and Head of the Civil Department at David Gray Solicitors LLP. She will be offering tips and advice on debt recovery, the importance of having good terms and conditions, contracts of sale and what can go wrong. Paula specialises in providing advice to small local businesses, whether they are just starting out or are long established and ranging from sole traders to 250 employees. She provides disputes and litigation advice, from debt recovery to forfeiture relief to defending personal injury claims. She also assists companies in preparing and maintaining up to date documents, such as terms and conditions, contracts and disclaimers.
Jayne Hart is Director of The HR Dept, South Tyneside. Jayne will provide some useful hints and tips on HR issues such as the importance of employee contracts – keeping you legally compliant and sane! As Jayne says; “When a company takes on employees, it is legally required to provide them with a written statement of the terms and conditions of their employment (a.k.a an employee contract) within 8 weeks. More importantly though, this is the opportunity to set out how you want that individual to work within your company and what they will receive from you in return.”
Anne Banks is a Solicitor and a member of both the Property and Business Team at David Gray Solicitors LLP, Ann’s seminar “Who Are You and Who Should You Be” will look at the legal issues around business start-up structures and the responsibilities of a business owner/director. Ann’s experience and specialisms include both commercial and residential conveyancing. She assists with sales and purchases of various types of business structures and provides advice surrounding the suitability of each depending on the aims and objectives of the business. Anne can also provide advice about wills and inheritance tax planning and in particular the impact the business assets and structures can have on this personal issue to any company Director.
