Event Information
About this Event
This event is in collaboration with Basma El Doukhi and the 19th Oxford Human Rights Festival
About the Event
As part of the UN Women International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Sixteen Days of Activism against Gender Violence 2020, Basma El Doukhi will lead an interactive session to challenge assumptions and raise awareness around the facts of gender based violence.
The chosen theme by UN Women this year is "Orange the World: Fund, Respond, Prevent, Collect!" You can find out more here. “Let’s support the initiative globally.” Says Basma.
Basma has compiled 16 facts and will facilitate an online interactive quiz to help the public assess their knowledge, challenge their perceptions and raise awareness of issues around gender-based violence in the UK and around the world. “I promise you that the quiz and the discussion will be a rewarding learning experience. It is our collective responsibility to let all the brave survivors all around the world know we are here to listen and help raise awareness’. Basma
The event will end with an interactive discussion and there will be time for personal reflections on how each of us can make a commitment to raise awareness.
Bring your friends, family members and colleagues who are interested to challenging their perceptions and assumptions around GBV.
