About this event
Come join us for a weekend of thought-provoking exploration into three topics that have fascinated and unsettled humanity for centuries.
We’ll gather in Stoke Newington Church Street to dive into the deep and often taboo subjects of death, sex and wealth.
This isn’t a lecture or debate. It’s a carefully held space for conversation, embodiment and personal reflection. Together, we’ll explore what we’ve been taught to avoid and discover what becomes possible when we face these truths openly.
Whether you arrive with curiosity, skepticism or a longing for honest dialogue, this event is for you. Expect a mix of group discussions, journaling prompts, somatic practices and spacious time for integration.
You’ll leave with:
- New perspectives on life’s biggest taboos
- A deeper connection to yourself and others
- Communication tools for conflict resolution
- A sense of clarity, freedom and possibility
- A feeling of having gently taken part in 16hrs 45 minutes of good therapyWhat to expect
Over two and a half days, we’ll move through:
Friday Evening – Arrival & Opening
Casual meet and gratitude, grounding and setting intentions together.
Saturday Morning: Death
Facing mortality, grief and endings. Befriending death as a teacher rather than a fear.
Saturday Afternoon: Sex
Unravelling shame, desire and conditioning. Exploring the shadow and light of pleasure and power.
Sunday Morning: Wealth
Interrogating our stories about money, scarcity and greed. Reframing wealth as value, freedom and relational capital.
Closing Circle – Weaving the three threads together and leaving with clarity, lightness and personal commitments.
How we’ll work
- Embodied practices (breath and gentle movement, somatic inquiry)
- Journaling and reflection prompts
- Small-group dialogues and whole-circle conversations
- Space for integration, rest, and choice
This is a unique opportunity to engage in stimulating dialogue and embodied practice, surrounded by like-minded people who are ready to get real and be more healthily human.
It is a chance to broaden your perspective, connect deeply and step into conversations that actually matter because they might just change the tragjectory of your life for the better...This is not about fixing yourself.
It’s about meeting yourself more honestly.
About your faciliator
This workshop is guided by Sophie Rucker, a certified Somatic Counsellor, facilitator and systems change strategist.
Somatic Counselling is a body-based theraputic approach to healing that recognises our emotions, memories and patterns don’t just live in the mind...they live in the body. Through breathwork, movement, grounding techniques and nervous system awareness, Sophie has a 1-2-1 practice helping people uncover and release what has been held in the body so they can meet life with more clarity, ease and self-trust to make desired shift their life.
Alongside her counselling practice, Sophie has over 7 years of experience leading theory of change communications and transformation projects with international organisations such as Greenpeace, Climate KIC and UNDP. She has facilitated circles, listening trainings, corporate wellness days and group workshops, always bringing the body back into the conversation for people to remember what it means to be human.
Sophie’s work is deeply shaped by her own lived experience of grief, shadow work and self-discovery. Her approach blends compassionate honesty with practical tools, creating spaces that feel both courageous and safe for people to explore taboos.
Frequently asked questions
No. Come as you are. This isn’t about being “good” or having the right words. It’s about being human together
We’re talking about real things but it doesn't have to be all doom and gloom. We’ll balance depth with movement, laughter, rest and lightness. You’ll have full choice about how much you share.
That’s completely okay. You can share as much or as little as you want. This workshop is about your relationship with these topics... sometimes reflection in your journal or quietly listening to others can be just as powerful as speaking.
No doctrine, no dogma. Just honest human exploration. We’ll use embodiment, reflection and dialogue as shared practices that belong to no religion but connect us all.
Probably for a moment and then it gets liberating. Naming what we usually hide creates huge relief. Most people say: “I thought I was the only one.”
When we face them directly, we free up massive amounts of energy typically being held as shame to be able to swap this heavy and dense feeling for acceptance | joy, creativity and connection :)
The workshop is designed as a journey, so the magic really unfolds if you stay for the full thing but if life truly gets in the way, you’ll still walk away with powerful insights from whatever you do attend.
Anyone who feels curious or called. This is not about gender, age or status...it’s for people who want to live more honestly and with more freedom in themselves. So I guess it is for courageously loving souls who wish to live life more fully.
A small group - intimate enough that everyone feels seen but big enough (hopefully) to feel the collective power of a circle. Max 40 but expecting around 10
