For some of us, discussing our finances is even harder than talking about sex. Yet we all struggle with similar questions:
What role does money play in my life? Am I thinking too much about it or too little? Do I link guilt and shame to money or rather pride? Might I be richer or poorer than I think? How much money do I need to feel good?
In our next event we want to talk about these kinds of questions in a safe and curious atmosphere. Among other things, will use anonymous online polls to get a bird’s-eye view of our relationship with money.We will experiment with structured and open discussion elements to spark meaningful exchange.
For this event, I teamed up with Stef Lenk and her event series talkin‘ taboos. Stef has been running her project since 2021 with the goal of creating a space where strangers can have deep conversations about otherwise rarely discussed topics – free from assumptions and expectations we frequently encounter in those who know us (you can find her talkin‘ taboos meetup group here).
Participation is free and you don’t need to prepare anything.

The discussion experiment is a method for discussing complex topics in groups. The method slows the discussions down, creates more clarity and helps the group to arrive at a shared understanding of a topic. Find out more on the homepage (please find the link in the event description above).
Talkin‘ taboos is an eventseries by Stef Lenk, with the goal of creating a space where strangers can have deep conversations about otherwise rarely discussed topics – free from assumptions and expectations we frequently encounter in those who know us. Please find all links in the description above.
This event will last about 1 hour and 45 minutes, i.e. until about 20:45. Everyone is welcome to stay a bit longer after the event to finish the snacks, connect and mingle.
It is perfectly fine to just listen. You can decide for yourself at any time how actively you want to participate and will not be asked to speak. We only may have a short round at the beginning of the conversation where all participants say their name.
The venue is on the ground floor and accessible with wheelchairs. However, there are unfortunately no wheelchair-accessible bathrooms!
Each event is a test and an experiment, which makes it difficult to predict exactly how it will unfold or feel. If the moderated part doesn't meet your expectations, it's still worth sticking around afterward to exchange ideas with the other lovely participants over some snacks.
