Event description

Description

As we approach the start of a new academic year, we would like to invite you to join us for a discussion on the impacts of students living in local communities which is taking place at the HEART Centre in Headingley on 17 September, 6:00 - 7:00pm.

We are proud of our diverse students and celebrate the many positive contributions they bring to the area through volunteering, working and living in Leeds. However, we acknowledge that the city’s universities and colleges have seen an increase in the number of complaints registered through the Neighbourhood Helpline Service regarding student behaviour issues and we are keen to address this collaboratively.

We would like to hear the thoughts of everyone in the local community and invite you to share your experiences and explore potential solutions with us. We will be joined by:

  • Dennis Hopper, Director of Campus Development, University of Leeds

  • Louise Ellis, Director of Sustainability, University of Leeds

  • Cat Fairbairn, Community Officer, Leeds University Union

  • Paul Money, Chief Officer Safer Leeds, Leeds City Council

  • Dee Reid, Director of External Relations, Leeds Beckett University

All enquires can be directed to Amanda Jackson on 0113 343 4073 or a.m.jackson@leeds.ac.uk

We look forward to seeing you on 17 September.
