Let's Talk About [X] is the University of Glasgow's undergraduate research conference for students on any course. This year, we'll have 24 speakers across 2 afternoons, and now is your chance to sign up to attend. The full programme will be published on our main website,
talkaboutx.net, as soon as it's been decided.
There'll be a break in each afternoon, and we'll have a brief pause at the top of each hour to allow people to join if they're coming from classes.
FAQs:
Will there be any breaks?
Yes! There will be a break in each afternoon where we'll provide tea and coffee outside the lecture theatre. Check
talkaboutx.net for precise timings. We'll also stop at the top of each hour to let new people join after their classes.
What will happen on the day?
We're running this like an authentic academic conference to give you a flavour of what a career in academia is like. We'll have 3 presenters in each hour. They'll talk for 10 minutes followed by 5 minutes for questions, and there will be a chance for people to join us from their lectures at the top of each hour.
Can I come to both days?
Yes! Just register for 2 free tickets.
Can I bring a friend?
Yes! Just make sure they get a ticket here too so we're not overbooked. Our fantastic speakers have written their presentations with a wide audience in mind, so you shouldn't need any specialist knowledge to follow the talks. Please feel free to share our web address (
talkaboutx.net) anywhere you want.
Will there be any photography?
We have the University's professional Media Production Unit on hand to record the presentations. They'll also be filming some general shots of the event so that we can make a promotional video for 2018's conference. If you'd prefer not to be filmed, just let them know on the day.
