Let's Talk: Women+'s Health Series

Come along to this free talk and workshop to learn about and share experiences of contraceptive care, with a focus on inequality. Researcher Kristina Saunders will be sharing her findings, and you will have the opportunity to participate in her research following the event.

This event is open to all women+ whether or not you'd like to share your experience, as part of our Community Learning series exploring women+'s health. We will be looking at a different theme every programme quarter so please share your ideas for our next theme!

Schedule:

6–6.15pm: arriving, settling in

6.15-6.45pm: Kristina shares her research

6.45-7pm: break

7-7.30pm: open conversation about our experiences

We recognise that this topic may bring up difficult experiences for people so just a reminder to look after yourselves and each other throughout the workshop. If there is anything we can do to make this event comfortable for you, please reach out and let us know.

Booking: This event is free and open to all, designed for women+ (inclusive of trans women and non-binary folk). Book your ticket on Eventbrite, or alternatively, you can email annie@kairoswomen.org or call on 0141 3785078 to find out more or book a Welcome Meeting with a member of the team.

Food & drinks: we have snacks & hot drinks available for free, and there’s a free food pantry in the corridor & there is always sandwich ingredients in the kitchen so just ask.

Pantry & Free Shop: In our corridor, grab something from the free shop – clothes, toiletries, household items. Or why not see what you can find in the pantry? Lots of items to fill your cupboards.

Children: This group isn’t suitable for children, however, we can chat about this and work out a plan together so you can attend. You are welcome to bring children to the Creative Cafe or Community Soup groups. All children must be supervised by a parent/caregiver. We have a designated kids’ corner in the pink room.

Transport: We are a 12 minute walk from Paisley Gilmour Station and the main bus routes. There is a large car park in front of the building. We will need your registration number on arrival when you sign in for free parking.

Note on the space: we are based in the Embroidery Mill, directly across from Morrisons car park. We’re the mill building without the tall tower nearby. Find out more on our Contact page.

Accessibility information: our space is on the ground floor and is wheelchair accessible with an accessible bathroom. Go to our Accessibility & Inclusion page for more information.

Sensory information: Kairos is a very colourful space that can be noisy during busy groups. We use lamps in our spaces to reduce sensory overwhelm and fidget toys are available. Speak to someone before coming along so we can advise you of quieter spaces. We can adapt to make the space more comfortable and accessible for you!

Get in touch if you need us to make any adaptation to make your visit more welcoming!
