Description

“There is but one truly serious philosophical problem – and that is suicide.” Albert Camus

As part of Aberdeen City Libraries' health talk series join author and journalist Kevin McAllion during Mental Health Awareness Week. Kevin will be talking about the taboo topic of suicide that features in his debut novel Moristoun (http://www.moristoun.com). Moristoun conveys a message that "there is always light even in the bleakest of places".

Kevin will explore the reasons that led him to write about suicide, the history of suicide in literature, his experiences with the suicide prevention charity Chris's House(https://www.facebook.com/chrisshouse.org) following the book's release and the need to raise awareness and to break the taboo and stigma surrounding suicide and mental health.

The event will be followed by a book signing and copies of Moristoun will be available to purchase.

Refreshments of tea and coffees will be provided. Booking is essential.
