Following on from our successful 'Music Therapy for EHCPs' event in 2024, delivered in collaboration with Suffolk Music Therapy and Jessie's Fund, we are pleased to host this online day for continuing the conversation around Music Therapy for EHCPs (and their equivalents across the devolved nations).

This event builds on our 2024 event and reviewing of the recording is highly recommended - once registered you can contact BAMT to receive the recording (info@bamt.org) and we ask that a donation of any size is made to Jessie's Fund.

The day will comprise of three interactive sessions, hosted on Zoom and have been designed following consultation with previous attendees of our 'Music Therapy for EHCPs' event:

10-11am: Writing Music Therapy in, and out, of EHCPs

Delivered by Ray Travasso, Clinical Director of Suffolk Music Therapy: This session covers what to consider when developing the case for the inclusion, or removal, of Music Therapy from EHCPs.

11.20-12.20pm: Exploring language and models for supporting the inclusion of Music Therapy

Delivered by Gill O'Dempsey (Chroma Therapies and NHS Oxleas) & Clare Maddocks (Director of Education & Research, BAMT): The EHCP process is often dominated by jargon, labels and models which are not Music Therapy-specific. This session explores and offers a refresher on how Music Therapy evokes physiological, psychological responses and how it can align with models used by MDTs such as trauma-informed or PACE models.

1-2pm: Future considerations for EHCPs

Delivered by Rebecca Ellis, Executive Director of Jessie's Fund: This session discusses ongoing challenges for funding and provides the funder perspective, offering advice for consideration by those hoping to secure Music Therapy within EHCPs.
