Description

The BMA Local Engagement Trial (Midlands) presents:

Let’s Talk – Nutrition!

Moat House Hotel, Acton Trussell J13 of the M6

Tuesday 15th May 2018, 19.00 – 21.00

Dr Alison Sabine is a Consultant Rheumatologist at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and has worked in the NHS for over 25 years. She has also trained as a Nordic Walking Instructor and is a keen proponent of Lifestyle Medicine and a Health Coach Advocate.

Her interest in nutrition developed from an increasing recognition of the potential for dietary change to modify inflammatory disease and from her own personal experience.

Alison has studied with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and at this event will talk about the concept of primary and secondary food, and the importance of acknowledging bio-individuality when providing nutritional guidance.

Bearing in mind that 70-80% of our immune system is located within our gut, it makes sense to consider carefully what goes into our digestive system!

This will be an interactive session to stimulate discussion and expand your thoughts around what we eat and how that contributes to our health and wellbeing.

As busy clinicians we can understand how the pressures of modern living easily affects our ability to eat well and so there will be some tips on how to manage this too!

We’ll start with a buffet at 7pm, and begin at 7.30pm.

A £10 refundable deposit is required to secure your place.
