"Let's Talk Sugar" Exhibition
Date and time
Description
"Let's Talk Sugar" is a innovative project to raise awareness of type 2 diabetes in the local community.
It's a collaboration between The Healthy Eating & Active Lifestyles for Diabetes team at King's College London, Graphic Artist Annie Nicholson, & young artists from Hackney. It is funded by the Cultural Institute at King's as part of the Early Career Researchers Scheme.
The young artists have been exploring the meaning of diabetes in their community and the value they place on their own health.
Workshops have been led by Annie Nicholson. Graphic Artist and Head of Art at Hackney New School and Amanda Moore from the Diabetes Research Group at King's College and the work is from the children at the school.
The evening will be a celebration of the achievements of the young artists, together with talks about type 2 diabetes specifically focused to help our African and Caribbean communities and will be a chance to learn about how to live well with the condition.
It's a drop in event, so please feel free to join us for all or part of the evening.
We'd love to see you.
